The Oxford Desk Dictionary defines the word “consign” this way:
“to hand over, deliver, assign, commit, entrust.” |

In the Thoroughbred industry, trust is the hallmark of the role of the consignor, the person who
sells a horse on behalf of its owner at public auction. When you entrust your horse to Warrendale
Sales, we pledge to work with you to present the best horse possible at auction, while we handle
all required paperwork. We are the in-between and the go-between between you, the seller and the
buyer of your horse—much like a real estate agent would handle the sale of a home.
Warrendale adheres to the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association Code of Ethics for
Thoroughbreds Auctions, which was developed by the Sales Integrity Program Task Force. We also
are a member of the Consignors & Commercial Breeders Association.
Warrendale and the entire Thoroughbred industry are coming off a year marked by continued
growth in the sales ring. In 2006, Warrendale consigned yearlings to the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga
Select sale for the first time. We had our best year ever at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale,
where we ranked among the leading consignors by gross sales.
Warrendale sales graduates also excelled on the racetrack. Cotton Blossom became a Grade 3
winner, competing in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1). Songster, Hystericalady and Ready to
Please all won Grade 2 stakes during the year. Other Warrendale graduates include Kimchi, who
won the $454,100 Woodbine Oaks; Grade 3 winner Old Forester; stakes winners Afrashad and Miss
Atlantic City and Grade 2 runner-up Teuflesberg.
We look forward to the opportunity to work with you this year. If my staff or I can assist you in any
way, please contact us.
