TVG's Todd Schrupp may have had this one circled, but there were few others in the crowd at Keeneland who could boast a bet on Satans Quick Chick. The bay was batting .500 on synthetic surfaces, with three wins from six starts, but those victories came in a Turfway maiden test back in January and two allowance races routing at Presque Isle Downs May 22 and Aug. 30.

In her two most recent stakes attempts, she had finished fifth in the Diamond Ring S. on the grass at Arlington July 11 and, last time out, sixth in the HBPA S. at Presque Isle Sept. 26. There was little to recommend her as she took on a solid field of a sprinting fillies, but Satans Quick Chick wasn't fazed by the board. Finding herself at the back of the pack after getting squeezed at the start, she was tucked in at the rail throughout. The longshot had to steady behind horses at the top of the lane, but she found the necessary gaps once clear, spurting up the inside to get the job done.
